Every year a large number of students apply to enter to the Residence, but due to the limited space, we only can receive a select few. For those who are interested in living here we recommend starting the application process as soon as possible.

Steps to apply to the Residence

1. Acquire an “inscription formulary”, you can find it at Ilinizas Residence (it costs $5.00), or you can download it here for free. If you wish you can fill the formulary on line by clicking here. 2. Present the completed formulary at Ilinizas Residence, together with a picture of the applicant and a copy of his qualifications from his last year (it may also be remitted via fax or email). 3. Upon reviewing the application the directors of Ilinizas will coordinate an interview with the applicant and his parents. We would like both parents to be present. 4. After the application interview, the Director of the Residence will evaluate the academic qualifications, the formation which the student desires, and his capacity to adapt to life in the Residence. After a few days we will announce the final decision. 5. The chosen applicants should confirm their intention of entering the house, by paying the registration fee. If after two weeks, the aspirant has not paid his, we will proceed to give his place to another applicant. The aspirant should pay the first month’s rent on the day he enters the Residence, or as soon as possible.

Chosen applicants

Once an applicant has been chosen and has paid the registration fee and the first month’s rent, he is a resident of Ilinizas. Consequently, he will have the privileges and obligations of such. Conveniently the monthly rent can be paid from anywhere in the country. Parents can pay simply by depositing the cost of rent into Ilinizas’s account. It’s important to know the rules of paying rents (only available in Spanish version). It is also best for the laundry service that each resident: Write his initials on all his clothes. For example if your name is Juan Pérez Pérez, write the letters “JPP” on your clothes. It is best to mark shirts inside the collar and pants inside the waist at the back. You can embroider the initials or use a permanent marker for clothes. Bring a pair of laundry bags (80x50 cm) well marked with your initials, for turning in your dirty laundry each week. Bring a second smaller pair of laundry bags (30x20 cm) made of net (not cloth) for turning in dirty socks.
